Originating from South Africa, these golden yellow/orange pods have a unique citrus flavour unlike other chillies of the capsicum chinense variety. They also have thin walls making them perfect for drying out. The heat level is similar to the habanero, around 125 – 500SHUs, but rather than the slow build of a habanero, it has an immediate hot mouth burn – but after that quick first punch, the delicious and unusual citrusy flavours come out. The Fatalii chilli plant grows to around 60 – 75cm tall producing up to 7.5cm long, tapered pods with deep ribs through them.
